Helpful hints for moving, packing and storage.

Question One

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
A – Office hours are the hours of operation for the property when the storage manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. (9-5 Monday through Friday, 9-4 Saturday, 9-2 Sunday – Verona ONLY) The gate hours are the hours your rental unit can be accessed using your assigned electronic gate security code. (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Question Two

What is self storage and why would I use it?
A – Self Storage refers to a space where customers store their personal property on a self service basis. Atlas Self Storage allows customers who are relocating, selling a home, or simply are looking for more space to store their possessions. Businesses frequently use Atlas Self Storage to store inventory or paperwork, rather than having to lease additional costly commercial space. Unlike portable or door to door storage, self storage customers have a key to their unit and a code to enter the gate, so they are not forced to make appointments to access their own property.

Question Three

What exactly can I store in a storage unit?
A – You can store almost anything from documents and furniture to vehicles and boats. There are a few things that cannot be stored, such as pesticides, fertilizers, hazardous substances, burnable fuels, explosives, living things, things that give off odors or can decay, contraband, or food. Be sure to tell the storage manager what you plan to store, they will be able to help you.

Question Four

Do I have to have insurance on the items that I store?
A – We HIGHLY recommend that you insure your stored possessions; however we do not insure your property for you. That is your responsibility. Check your home owners or renter’s policy – many of them include coverage for your property stored away from home.

Question Six

Do you rent space month to month?
A – All leases are month to month, and can be leased for however long the space is needed.

Question Seven

Do I need to give you notice when I move out?
A – Yes, we request at least a 7-10 day notice.

Question Eight

What kind of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a storage space?
A – You will need to provide a valid government issued form of ID.

Question Nine

If I do not rent storage can I still purchase storage and moving supplies?
A – Yes. All ATLAS Self Storage locations sell moving and storing supplies for anyone to purchase. View our ‘Supplies’ section on the website for specific items.

Question Ten

What is temperature control?
A – Temperature control is a feature that we offer. Our temperature controlled units maintain a temperature of 40°to 90°Ferenheight. This feature helps to protect your stored belongings from extreme changes in temperature.

Question Eleven

What are the payment terms?
A – ATLAS Self Storage wants to make sure your storage experience a stress-free experience, including paying your bill. We offer the convenience of auto-pay. We can automatically charge your MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover or debit card each month on the due date.

Question Twelve

What kind of security do you have?
A – ATLAS Self Storage strives to provide state of the art security. We feature on-site managers, electronic gate with coded access, 24 hour video recordings, fencing and well-lit facilities. We also have personal locks available for purchase.
